
a bit too much red?
With a primarily red app for connected appliances that lacked more in-depth branding and content, the team had the opportunity to update the visual UI as well as incorporate new elements and functionality to increase the KitchenAid brand experience.

One of the main goals was to shift from the large amount of red throughout the app. By creating a clean, simple and white UI, the KitchenAid branded red was able to stand out for specific interaction points for the user to more clearly use the app to set and manage their appliance.
The team implemented a graphic animation to visualize the time remaining for their cooking cycles. The inspiration was to represent a manual kitchen timer in order to speak to a tangible, tactile feel for the KitchenAid maker.
